BASK welcomes members to join the society. To be eligible for membership you need to be a consultant or trainee surgeon.

Application is now available on-line only, you will need to complete the process with all details in one go in order to progress your application. No further paper applications will be accepted. When you apply you will need to have ready:

– A 2 page CV
– The GMC numbers of your two referees, who must have already given you verbal approval of their support. They must be current members and have paid the current year’s subscription fees, if they are not up to date then you will be notified during the application process.

Once you have submitted your application, your referees will be contacted to confirm their support of your application. Once your referees have replied, approval for membership is finalised at the BASK AGM, which is held at the annual conference each Spring, or at one of the BASK Executive meetings.

Once approved you will be asked to complete a Direct Debit Form to be returned to the Secretariat by post. Once the first payment is received then your membership will be fully activated and you will receive all the benefits of being a member of BASK. In due course the payment system will be switched to an on line process using Direct debits.
