Welcome to the BASK 2018 annual conference home page.

The meeting will be hosted by our President, Mr Colin Esler.
It will be held at the Leicester City Football stadium (see bottom of page for details / links)

Knee reviewers meeting

The BASK annual dinner will be held on 20th March 2018 at The National Space Centre

Those wishing to attend must register online through the Conference Registration link.
Please note that entrance to the venue for the Annual Dinner is by ticket only.

Entertainment: Jan Ravens – comedian/actress/impressionist who has appeared on Dead Ringers, Just A Minute and I’m Sorry I Haven’t a Clue on Radio 4, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, Have I Got News for You, Alexei Sayle’s Stuff and in Dictionary Corner on Channel 4’s Countdown.

Coach return transfers to and from the Annual Dinner Venue will be from the following hotels ONLY:
Holiday Inn Express, Holiday Inn Leicester & Marriot Leicester Hotel
Departure time from selected hotels to NSSC: circa 7.10pm TBC and return 11pm prompt
Further details on timings etc will be sent to all those who have registered for the dinner ahead of the Meeting.

The BASK Golf Outing will be held from midday at Luffenham Heath Golf Club on Monday 19th March 2018.
Golf with Lunch or Golf with Lunch & evening Dinner will be available.
Those wishing to attend must register online through the Conference Registration link.

The online abstract submission is now closed as of 11.59pm on 7th January 2018.
Authors have now been informed of the success or not of their abstract.
Authors selected to present a Podium, Poster or E-poster presentation MUST REGISTER online to attend the meeting.

The last date for booking study leave (8 weeks notice) for BASK 2018 is 23rd January 2018.

Members may register FREE using the online registration system until 9th February 2018, after this date members will need to pay a fee to register.
Non-Members may register online at the ‘Early Bird’ rate until 9th February 2018.

Please note that BASK has a cancellation policy:
Up to 31st January 2018 – 25% cancellation charge
Up to 28th February 2018 – 50% cancellation charge
After 1st March 2018 – 100% cancellation charge.
All cancellations must be received in writing by the due date to events@miceorganiser.com
Refund payments will be made less the applicable cancellation charges post-event.

The Headquarters hotel is the Marriot Leicester which is located 5.9km from the meeting venue LCFC.
The onsite hotel is the Holiday Inn Express.
TSC Hotels & Venues will allow you to book your accommodation, please note we only recommend TSC as the company to book your accommodation with for the meeting.

TRAIN: Leicester Train Station is approximately 1.3 miles from the LCFC King Power Stadium, which is roughly a 10-minute car journey or a 25-minute walk.
To walk from Leicester Train Station, exit the building and cross London Road, turn left and follow the round to the right. Keeping Waterloo Way on your left as the path separates, cross New Walk and follow the path down to Nelson Mandela Park. Turn right onto Lancaster Road, walk through the park and head for the crossing by the public toilets, cross Welford Road and turn left, you will then arrive at King Power Stadium, entrance is via the Main Entrance.

BUS: A number of bus services run from Leicester Train Station to King Power Stadium, please note will include a short walk at either end.

CAR: The M1 and M69 Motorways interchange at Junction 21 (M1), where you should exit and follow the signs for the City Centre via the A5460. After 3 miles turn right onto Upperton Road, follow the road until you get to the Liberty Stature Island, take the exit for Western Boulevard and you will see the King Power Stadium ground on your right hand side.

PARKING: King Power Stadium offers plenty of free onsite car parking, for those arriving by car you must report to the security booth at the entrance to the car park on arrival.

The invitation for exhibitors to exhibit at the 2018 Annual Meeting will be sent out via email by close of play on the 12th January 2018.

CPD points are available with 3 points for Day 1 and 3 points for Day 2.

Fixed points are usually awarded for educational content with a further 1 point per hour of free paper sessions attended, providing the papers were relevant to your practice

In order to qualify for points you must also make reflective notes for filing in your personal portfolio

These will be issued, usually by June, on completion of the post meeting survey.

A request to complete the SurveyMonkey form will be sent to the e-mail address you gave when registering for the conference. One reminder will be sent 2 weeks after the initial request. If you do not receive the request please contact the webmaster.

A certificate will only be issued on completion of the survey:

No survey = No certificate

Once the survey is closed it will NOT be re-opened and no further certificates will be sent out. BASK enforces this rule rigidly!

BASK will not be held responsible for any loss of personal items or any personal injuries during the course of the annual meeting.
